Here’s a concrete practice for you to try that will truly reshape, reroute, and rewire your wonderful mind…
It’s called “Memorize the Feeling.”
Just like we can memorize facts, do you know we can also memorize feelings?
If we keep inclining the mind in a certain direction, that’s where it will begin to land on its own.
In fact, for better or worse, we’re doing this all the time.
Perhaps you’ve (unintentionally) “memorized” anxiety, worry, or stress at some points in your life.
Today, let’s talk about how you can start memorizing things like peace, contentment, and joy instead.
We can actually train ourselves to access joy neurocircuitry by running it more regularly, which is very exciting.
To do so, you can simply recall a positive memory (could be recent or not) and replay it.
See and feel yourself there.
You can do this silently or aloud with another ~ and with your eyes open or closed.
Perhaps you recall things you weren’t even fully present to in the moment they were occurring.
As you relive the positive feelings, let them grow, and bask in or meditate on them for at least 2 minutes.
With practice, you are literally rewiring your mind and training it to land on those nourishing feelings more and more readily.
It requires nothing fancy, it only takes a couple minutes, and you can do it anywhere, anytime. Isn’t that amazing?!
I’m so thankful to be on this journey with you, and I’m sending abundant love and blessings and a great, big hug from my heart into your day.
