I am so thankful for all the ways peace, purpose, and happiness come from living in alignment with our VALUES. When our actions are congruent with what matters most to us, we are blessed with a harmonious life, true inner freedom, and the greatest capacity for joy! When we make decisions in accordance with our values, it builds our connection with our authentic self and with all things, as we are choosing to be fully AWAKE to our inter-connectedness and the greater good!
Something I value deeply is to live a life that causes minimal suffering to any living thing, and I feel a profound connection to animals. Some ways I love to live in alignment with this value is being vegan for the past 16 years, adopting furry family members from shelters, not purchasing anything made from animal products or tested on animals, donating to organizations that promote animal rights and welfare, and……now……my first time fostering rescue dogs! 😃
Meet Whistle, pictured here, who touched grass for the first time in his life on Monday after spending 5 years in a very, very sad situation in a puppy mill. 😢
I invite you to, without any judgment, compassionately take a look at your life. Where are you living in alignment with your values? Notice how wonderful that feels! And where are you not living in a way that matches your values? It may be your routine or seem more convenient not to — but at what cost to your true inner peace, *lasting* happiness, and the greater good?
May you do one thing today that you might not otherwise (like bring your own reusable containers when you are getting takeout to reduce waste!), and simply notice how good it feels and how your heart expands when you do the thing that you know is right and for the greater good of all.
PS: Do you know about www.PetFinder.com?! It is an AMAZING database to find the perfect new furry family member! It’s how we’ve found all of ours! 🙂 Waldo and Whistle will eventually be up there and ready for adoption 😉
Lots of loving blessings, tail wags, gratitude, and wishes for a magical end to your week! XO
