A little lovenote for when you feel a gap between where you are and where you want to be…
In these moments, it can be so easy to…
– compare
– judge (self and/or others)
– doubt
– discard the dream
– feel the immense pain of it
– see the gap as evidence that you don’t have what it takes
– and/or feel like you are betraying your own soul
However, no good can be grown here.
And those are all just stories, not facts.
Instead…
(this is KEY!)
…we can move towards actually closing the gap by asking a different possibility-filled question, such as:
“What would it take to __________?”
(fill in the blank for where you want to be)
To make it even easier, here are little reflection prompts if this can support you…
STEP 1:
What do you long for more of?
(Let yourself freely journal or meditate on this.)
STEP 2:
What have you been doing currently that hasn’t been helping?
(Gaining awareness is powerful, especially when done with tremendous self-compassion.)
STEP 3:
Rather than seeing those things in step 1 as distant not-possible longings, ask yourself a much more expansive question of…
“What would it take to experience more of whatever I listed in step 1?”
STEP 4:
Based on the above, what is one inspired, aligned action I can take today, no matter how small?
Did you know that research done by Richard Bernard on happiness and self-esteem shows that simply moving towards our goals, vision, or heart’s desires matters so much more than if we actually succeed or “fail,” win or “lose?”
Research essentially shows that it’s a win for our happiness and self-esteem when we take action and lean into our fears, as we are honoring our true and expanded selves.
Sending all sorts of love into your week and wishing for you some possibility-filled questions that uplift, encourage, empower, and inspire you and expand what can be created and grown — in you and through you.
Abundant Love and Joy,
