When you are doing your morning routine, what kinds of thoughts are you having? Are you dreading the day before it’s even started? Worrying about things? Judging yourself or others? Feeling stressed?
Most importantly, are your thoughts energy-GIVING or energy-zapping?
One area of my life where I am especially intentional every single morning is what kinds of thoughts I choose during my morning routine. Living an inspired and enlivened life is incredibly important to me, and I want to go through my day EXCITED about this amazing gift of being ALIVE and the abundance of opportunities we have every single day to learn, grow, make a difference, savor life’s goodness, be more present than we were the day before, and follow our passions. I want to greet life with wide open arms, not by “muscling through it” or surviving another day.
So, while I am brushing my teeth, showering, making my tea, and going through my morning routine, I am literally giving myself an inner pep talk about whatever is ahead that day, pumping myself up about it, shifting my mindset until I can literally FEEL myself filling up with energy, aliveness, and joy.
What kind of fuel are you filling yourself with every morning? Thoughts that DRAIN your energy or GAIN you energy?
Just think of a sports game. If the players need to perform at their best, the coach will pull them off the field to get them fired up again, and they return to the game with renewed zest. You can see it and feel it. Every morning, that’s exactly what we have the opportunity to do for ourselves!
And what if you simply aren’t excited about whatever you need to do that day? Well, that’s the whole point! This is to help get you in a positive mindset to get there.
Having a great day is no accident. And our thoughts DIRECTLY determine how much energy we will have. Choose every morning that you are going to make it the BEST it can possibly be, and use your thoughts to help get you there!
