There are some experiences in life that feel truly indescribable to my heart, and I find myself simply wanting to bow in silence and gratitude and reverence for the profound gift of life, for the immense privilege of witnessing and learning from and being awed and inspired by the hearts and minds and spirits of others, for the honor of getting to serve and share things with others that have been so deeply transformative in my own life, and for the ways Love weaves a kind of magic in us and through us and between us…
beyond anything my mind could plan or possibly imagine on its own.
As I integrate the 6-day immersive Joy Potential Coach Certification training we just wrapped up with the 19 gorgeous souls who joined us, it’s one of those moments.
However, I absolutely positively want to take a moment to celebrate and congratulate them in the highest, to thank them with all my heart, to honor them for the ways they are hearing and answering their callings to be embodiments and beacons of possibility in the world…
…and to share 10 things I fall evermore in love with and gain evermore conviction around during experiences like these, in case they can serve as little reminders or invitations that support YOU in any way too…
1. When we do our subconscious reimprinting work during this training and journey into depths to discover and release the places we have unknowingly had our “joy brakes” on…
…what we find is not darkness or emptiness — but a light in the center of everyone’s innermost being that is beckoning for us to remember it, reclaim it, prioritize it, clear all the misunderstandings and outdated beliefs and patterns that have stood in the way, and plug back into the wellspring of joy that has always been there all along.
2. The correlation between love and joy are inseparable. The more we align with, connect to, allow, invite in, prioritize, stay centered in, see through, and lead with love, the more joy becomes available too.
3. Although there are plenty of amazing research-backed universal practices to help us experience more joy, we also each get to be the authority of our own happiness…
…and, when we can clear all the static and clutter that has stood in the way, our inner wisdom, inner guidance, and what I call our unique “JPS – Joy Positioning System” is so brilliantly and perfectly custom-fit to each of us.
In other words, when we can get quiet enough to hear it, our heart and inner light already know the way.
4. Because we are creatures of habit (which often comes in very handy in the fullness and busyness of life), in order to experience joy and stay connected to who we truly are and what’s most important to us…
…it is paramount that we carve out time and space to ensure those outdated patterns and habits — that may have once served a purpose — still do.
And when they don’t, we have an extraordinary opportunity to update and upgrade them to match our current values and the vision of who we want to be NOW and everything we want to grow and expand into.
5. For me, supporting people in having better relationships and in experiencing more true inner joy are the top two areas in which I feel most deeply called to serve the world.
And I am endlessly grateful for how these things have enriched my own life beyond measure.
As much as we can absolutely cultivate joy from the inside out, I also find that it is ever so important for all of us to find those people, environments, teachings, careers, books, podcasts, whatever it may be — that we WANT to rub off on us. Because they will.
As humans, we are social creatures, and it is impossible to be unaffected by these things.
However, we can use this to our advantage by intentionally curating and cultivating more and more things in our lives that nourish, center, elevate, inspire, and uplift us and that make us feel like MORE of who we truly are, not less — things that we WANT to sync up with and become more like.
I call these “joy buoys,” and they are powerful ways to leverage joy.
6. No matter who we are or where we’ve been, thanks to neuroplasticity, we have an innate and extraordinary (and science-backed) capacity to truly rewire our minds towards higher and more joyful states of being. And it undeniably works.
This is fabulous news for the human experience!
7. Play is not frivolous. It is effective, essential, practical, and vital to our greatest wellbeing, our physical, mental, and emotional health, and to having the greatest relationships.
8. The very things we find upsetting, that challenge and trigger us (that it’s so easy to ignore, stuff, project onto others, deny, resist, judge, react to, ruminate about, etc.)…
…when we can learn ways to approach them intentionally and skillfully…
…become doorways of discovery that guide us to our greatest freedom and to the exact buried treasures that contain the answers, solutions, healing, breakthroughs, a-ha’s, and very wisdom we seek.
They are often the last places we look and the first places we resist — but are the exact places that are calling for our love and attention to help light our path back to even greater joy.
And, fortunately, there is a roadmap for exactly how to do this.
9. We can either focus on dead ends — or look in other directions where doorways abound. We can see barriers or turn them into building blocks. We can fixate on problems or open to living in the land of possibilities. We can judge the “other” or see ourselves in them and choose to have grace for us both.
Our level of joy is greatly impacted on which we choose.
10. And, as always, what gets created in the collective space of open hearts and open minds, with kindness and curiosity, with a spirit of togetherness and love…
…it’s surely beyond anything that could be experienced individually.
Community multiplies miracles.
Blessings upon blessings, joyous congratulations, and abundant loving gratitude to these dazzlingly lights.
