20 ways to create a more beautiful life and world even when things feel hard blog

Small ways to shape a better world

Even when the world feels heavy, there is still so much within our control. Choosing small, intentional actions each day can help us create more of what we want to see and feel.

Even when life feels complicated, and the world looks messy, here’s a loving reminder of some of the countless things nearly all of us have control over…

…things that help keep us connected to who we truly are…

…and create more of what we do want, more of what we do believe in and value and want to multiply, in our own hearts, homes, families, communities, and beyond…

…not to deny the other challenges…

…but to simply remember the boundless magnitude of goodness we’re capable of generating and cultivating in response, for the greater benefit of all.

To me, the moments we may feel the most discouraged, disheartened, or disillusioned by what’s happening outside of us are moments to DOUBLE DOWN on growing the good.

20 (among countless) THINGS WE CAN DO TODAY TO CREATE A MORE BEAUTIFUL LIFE AND WORLD

1. Talking to ourselves with more kindness, compassion, and grace. Love in, love out.

2. Choosing curiosity over assumptions.

3. Using a tone with others that signals to them that they are emotionally safe and can relax in our presence.

4. Being open to feedback and using everything for our evolution, awakening, and growth.

5. Initiating topics of conversation with others that improve everyone’s lives from having connected.

6. Greeting pain with love — inside of ourselves and one another — which helps heal it and free it.

7. First seeing and hearing others when we long to feel seen and heard ourselves.

8. Expressing unlimited amounts of gratitude, which is fertilizer for all the things that are already here and working.

9. Staying humble and keeping our hearts open.

10. Prioritizing and pursuing our passions.

11. Nurturing a personally meaningful spiritual practice that helps us find our quiet, peaceful center.

12. Consuming media, books, music, podcasts, etc. that we want to rub off on us – because they will.

13. Learning more about things that inspire us and reinvigorate our love and amazement at being alive.

14. Looking for the gifts and creative solutions — that typically only reveal themselves when we first believe they exist.

15. Being mindful of the energy we bring into moments and conversations.

16. Choosing the thoughts we focus on and feed, as what we think directly impacts what we feel and who we become.

17. Journaling or finding other healthy outlets for the full spectrum of our thoughts and feelings — so they can be expressed, learned from, and released.

18. Setting an example and taking the lead —with our kindness, graciousness, generosity, vulnerability, bravery, and beyond.

19. Recognizing each breath as the reset it is to realign and recommit to who we want to be and how we want to show up.

20. Strengthening our relationships and pausing right now — to send a heartfelt message of love, appreciation, care, encouragement, or “thinking of you” to someone else…and noticing how good that feels.

…and oh so much more…

Sending an abundance of love and gratitude and the biggest, boldest, brightest of blessings.
