Kate believes that people make sense.

Rather than asking, “What’s wrong with you?” she is more interested in understanding the patterns that have developed through a lifetime of relationships, experiences, and adaptation. She believes many of the ways people think, feel, relate, and protect themselves once served an important purpose and represent resilience and skills for survival. Therapy offers an opportunity to approach those patterns with curiosity rather than criticism, fostering greater awareness, greater flexibility, and, ultimately, more choice.

Before becoming a therapist, Kate spent ten years as a bodyworker and has maintained a dedicated yoga practice for nearly twenty years. Those experiences continue to shape the way she understands healing. She views the mind, body, relationships, and environment as interconnected, and enjoys helping clients notice the ways these systems influence one another. What can initially feel like a collection of unrelated struggles often begins to make sense when viewed through a wider lens.

Kate works from a trauma-informed, attachment-oriented, and nervous system-informed perspective, integrating principles from Somatic Experiencing®, mindfulness, and interpersonal neurobiology. She enjoys working with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, grief, life transitions, relationship challenges, chronic pain and illness, and the many ways stress can become woven into daily life.

Therapy is not about fixing what is broken, but about creating enough space for people to reconnect with themselves, which is foundational in Kate’s approach. As old patterns soften and new possibilities emerge, clients often find greater ease, deeper connection, and the freedom to become more fully themselves.

She earned her Master of Social Work degree from Indiana University and is currently completing the Intermediate level of Somatic Experiencing® training and anticipates becoming a certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) in 2027. She strives to offer a warm, collaborative space where meaningful work can happen—and where, when the moment calls for it, laughter is always welcome.

NO SHOWS/LATE CANCELLATIONS

We fully understand that unexpected things may come up. Please know we do require at least a 24-hour notice if you need to cancel or reschedule so that we can make that time slot available to another client. If you use our online calendar above, automated appointment reminders are sent to you 36 hours and, again, 6 hours prior to your appointment. If you need to cancel or reschedule less than 24 hours before your appointment, you will be charged $35 per scheduled hour. If you miss an appointment without contacting us at least 6 hours beforehand, you will be charged the full session fee. This is simply because your scheduled time slot was not available to be filled by another client, and preparations and considerations were made based on your session. Thanks so much for your understanding and honoring of this. Also, please note that insurance cannot be charged for these fees.
