A game we love to play with our dear nephews when we have our special dates with them…
Group Dare
It works similarly to classic Truth or Dare, but here’s how we like to play…
We all make a pact at the beginning of the game that we will do whatever is dared, as long as the person making the dare is also willing.
Then, we take turns each coming up with a dare for all of us to do together as a group (solidarity, haha
).
I am endlessly fascinated by discovering things we can do to turn everyday moments into more magical or meaningful ones,
how we can create more fun nearly anywhere and without any particular “thing” needed,
and how we can approach the entire world around us a bit more as a playground, inviting us to explore, engage with it, and continually see it in new ways.
Play is so important for the human brain, heart, and spirit at all ages.
Research done by the National Institute for Play shows that play boosts well-being, teamwork, happiness, optimism, adaptability, creativity, resilience, emotional and social intelligence, greater immunity, and so much more…
…which is such delightful news — that something so enjoyable provides so many real, undeniable, practical benefits.
This photo is from our most recent Group Dare outing, when one of our dares was to take a family photo with the next dog we saw (a less bizarre group dare than we often have
).
Thanks to these amazing playmates — and to this sweet pup who was shopping at Bloomingfoods and willing to play along.
Sharing here in case this gives you a little inspiration to sprinkle some play and joy into an otherwise ordinary experience — in whatever way speaks to you.
And sending all sorts of love into your day!
Abundant Love and Joy,
