Have you ever heard this quote? When I first read it many years ago, I instantly knew it would become one of my all-time faves.
✨“Why are you unhappy? Because 99.9 percent of everything you think and of everything you do is for yourself—and there isn’t one.”✨
– Wei Wu Wei
I LOVE that.
Of course, it’s so important to practice self-care and deep listening to our hearts and honoring of our own needs (in mind, body, heart, and spirit).
However, I find that I struggle the most in life when I make it about ME, rather than about what is of service to the greater good (whether that is the greater good of my marriage, my friendships, our business, or the world/planet).
And making it about us isn’t just the selfishness we naturally think of (i.e. “What’s in this for ME?” vs. “What’s in this for the greater good of others/everyone?”)
It’s also about things like…
Being afraid to share our gifts.
Self-judgment.
Letting our fears hold us back.
Feeling not enough.
Feeling unworthy.
Those things still make it about US — rather than being wholeheartedly oriented towards what best serves others.
I have definitely been able to serve the most, do the most, and be the best version of myself when I instead say:
💗“Okay, Universe, use me. Use me however you want to use me to best love and serve the world.”💗
🤓Also, according to the measures of a Social Capital Community Benchmark survey, those who gave contributions of time or money were 42% more likely to be happy. Yay!
🧠And research by the National Institute of Health shows that, when people just thought about giving, it lit up the same area of the brain that is activated with delicious food, sex, and other pleasures. Woohoo!
We don’t need to make a choice between helping others and helping ourselves. It gets to be both. 💞
I have been collaborating to create a project that will allow all of us to shower the medical community with appreciation and encouragement during the weeks ahead when they will be stretched — not only physically but emotionally, mentally, and spiritually as well.
🌈 We want to help keep them uplifted as they uplift countless others.🌈
The Celebrating Our Superheroes project is coordinating with hospitals to plaster their break rooms with physical posters full of love, positive energy, and gratitude from the community. Rest assured, they will be sanitized and safe 😉
We have many individuals, hospitals, and schools eagerly wanting to get involved and are deeply grateful. 🙏🤗
✨We hope you and/or your family will join in as well! ✨
It’s a great creative project, away from technology, to keep your kids occupied, 😉 to teach them about kindness and gratitude, and to engage your wonderful family in a meaningful activity together 😍

➡️➡️➡️ When things feel out of control, challenging, and scary, there is something we always have control over — how we respond and how we show up for one another. As we know is true for so many of you, we can’t think of a better way to channel our energy right now than into helping others feel better.
Plus, here’s a FUN FACT: we cannot simultaneously feel both fear and gratitude. The moment we shift our attention towards feeling genuine appreciation, our fear begins to dissolve. Spreading appreciation to others is, hands down, one of the fastest ways to generate more peace and well-being within ourselves — and we think that’s a very beautiful thing. 🥰

Thank you, thank you, thank you for all you are doing to spread care, support, kindness, and love in any and all ways. My heart is so warmed witnessing it, and it is no doubt contagious in the very best of ways. 🤗💞🥰
