My hubby and I are so fortunate to be expanding the team of amazing angel helpers for our business, and, today, I wrote up some communication guidelines to keep us all in sync with the values and vision of what we hold dear around here. I’m inspired to share these in case they can be of service to anyone else who wants to lead and communicate with a little more love, kindness, and joy… Click HERE for the easily downloadable and printable poster to hang by your own desk!
My heart is filled with wonder and love after looking through the photos from our last Reiki 1/2 training that I received back from the exquisitely talented Andrea Ellinger Golden. I feel such profound gratitude and awe for these sacred moments we shared — of healing, illumination, breakthroughs, love, laughter, communion, empowerment, and opening up to what we are capable of, individually and together. I am truly marveling at all of you and the uniquely gorgeous light within each one of you! THANK YOU for shining your love and healing gifts in the world! See the FULL COLLECTION OF PHOTOS HERE! It was so much fun visiting Louisville, KY this past weekend with my sweet love! ♥️ We had passed through dozens of times on other road trips but never stayed to EXPLORE. ✨ There were so many moments when we both paused — just to SAVOR — to really take in the beauty of a moment and to let the gifts of it SINK IN. Whenever I do this, my heart swells — and I also become so aware of how I truly would have missed a large percentage of whatever it was if I had NOT done this. It’s not that we didn’t talk about the future (we’re always dreaming and scheming!), but we spent most of our time pointing out to each other the wonderment around us and in our lives, no matter how small. In the busyness and delicious fullness of life, it’s so easy for us precious humans to: 🌼 Not be fully present 🌼 Focus on what needs fixing, correcting, or our attention — rather than on what IS working 🌼 Focus more on the to-do’s than the already-have’s I’ve been doing this savoring practice for many years now, but it truly is a daily practice. And spending a whole weekend away that was devoted to RELISHING in moments and to appreciating and celebrating what ALREADY IS filled my heart! ♥️ How can you spend more time this week appreciating the already-haves, rather than your mind jumping right over them and straight to the have-to-dos?!…
When something unexpected or unwanted happens, we can spend our time and energy: (1) looking for who to blame or (2) looking for creative solutions for how WE can help positively transform the situation. One option greatly limits our joy, spikes our stress, and closes our hearts, but the other option opens up pathways for unlimited possibilities ~ which is way more fun and where I love to live! (Lovebug agrees that there are much more productive uses of our energy than spending any of it on blaming others!
Whenever I think “what can I GET?” (from an interaction, experience, relationship, etc.) it is nowhere near the joy I feel when I shift back into my favorite place to be: 💖 “what can I GIVE?” 💖 Having a service-orientation towards life opens up pathways to love, connection, and joy otherwise unavailable to us. It is here that we remember who we really are and why we’re all really here. ✨🙏🌟 Thank you for all you give and do to make this world a kinder place to be! 🤗 XO
So grateful to have spent a magnificent weekend with this amazing group of humans committed to accessing their Joy Potential ~ for the greater good of ALL! ❤ Thank you all so much for being powerful GENERATORS of positive energy, BEACONS of kindness, caring, and love, MODELS of what’s possible, and REASONS for hope for our world! “As one of the seven billion human beings, I believe everyone has the responsibility to develop a happier world. We must pay more attention to our inner values. We must look INSIDE.” – Dalai Lama Thank you for sharing your exquisitely authentic lights and accessing the wellspring of joy and love within you. As you do, I have no doubt you are helping others recognize and tap into their own! And a happier planet is surely a kinder and more generous, peaceful, and connected one “Because you are alive, everything is possible.” – Thich Nhat Hanh
I just found out that I have the great honor and joy of getting to be one of the six speakers for the upcoming TED-inspired “Walk Your Talk: Creating Happiness” event in Bloomington this February at the wonderful Buskirk-Chumley Theater! My talk will be coming straight from my heart, and my greatest hope is that it will be of service on your own journey of creating happiness! ✨🙏 I would love and be honored to see any of your beautiful faces there! It is being organized by some amazing people, and I’m so excited to hear the other 5 radiant speakers and their inspiring messages. I know it will be a truly heartwarming and illuminating evening! You can get tickets through the Buskirk Chumley box office and can find the Facebook event here: https://www.facebook.com/events/268208790349791/ Deepest love and gratitude! ❤ PS: This is different from the TEDx talk I am giving farther north at Wabash College in March. In fact, this one is much closer to most of you darlings! #WalkTheTalkSpeakerSeries
I just finished signing the speaker paperwork for the TEDx talk I’m so very grateful, elated, and honored to be invited to give in March of 2018! ✨ My greatest wish and prayer is that I can listen deeply, hear clearly, act courageously and authentically, and give wholeheartedly with whatever I am called to share!💗 Whatever will most be of service and best help people experience less suffering and more love, connection, inner freedom, and true joy — I am all in! I am ABUNDANTLY thankful for the incredible efforts of TED and all of the inspiration I have personally received from watching talks over the years.
We are never truly more significant by making anyone else less significant. Our true significance comes from helping others to see theirs! Imagine what we could do together if we helped everyone we encounter to see their unique and genuine value, gifts, strengths, and beauty! That’s the world I am committed to help create! My favorite treasure hunt (and you are welcome to join me on it!) is the one that involves finding all of the treasures inside of everyone I meet. I’m pointing at you here because I know there are lots inside of YOU!
So grateful for the monthly Buffalo Sisters Gift Circle that has been gathering at our home for 8+ years, for heart-centered connections, for spaces to come together to encourage, nurture, uplift, support, understand, and inspire one another, for opportunities to feel the incredible strength that comes from togetherness, for cultivating connection, for places to drop in and really see and hear one another, for the healing that is possible in safe and loving spaces, and for shared intentions to focus our energy on recognizing, appreciating, and growing the unique gifts within us all — for the greater good of all! <3 Last night’s circle also included all sorts of confetti I brought back from Peru that is traditionally used to make sacred offerings to Pachamama (Mother Earth) in celebration of the gift of life. When we travelled there last month, so many streets were lined with this sacred confetti and, when women left here last night, so were all of us, and so was our homesweethome! 😉 In Positive Psychology, research shows that the greatest changes happen when we don’t simply focus on fixing what’s WRONG but, instead, make sure we also spend an abundance of time and energy on growing what’s STRONG. We all offered up this confetti last night in recognition of those beautiful aspects of ourselves and our world we want to keep growing! I also intentionally handed out star stickers to everyone last night. It might seem silly (though I am all for the vital importance…
